To achieve this, he uses authentic materials and shows great respect for the history of the houses he renovates. For this project, Aurélien replaced the damaged wattle and daub with our 9 cm IsoHemp blocks.
Thanks to the lime-hemp blocks, this house has retained its old structure and charm during the renovation. Easy to implement, our hemp blocks have given this building a new lease of life for the next 100 years.
Hemp blocks are perfectly suited for the renovation of timber-framed houses as they are flexible and adapt to the timber-frame configuration.
Additionally, hemp blocks offer other benefits for this type of building: they can be used as infill between the timber frames and/or as cladding behind the frame to enhance insulation and airtightness similar to wattle and daub (historically used), hemp blocks also allow the wood to breathe they form the insulating envelope of the building and provide extraordinary living comfort.
