Discover in Westermden the renovation of the house and structural reinforcement of the Jachin church. The walls have been insulated with hemp blocks of 9, 15, and 25 cm, and the cavity has been filled with a hemp-lime mixture. The presence of different thicknesses is due to the stripped-down cabinets.
Hemp blocks were chosen for their ability to provide effective thermal and moisture regulation, as well as excellent acoustic insulation. Thanks to their biosourced and 100% natural nature, they ensure fire resistance and contribute to an extended lifespan of the building.
The project benefited from the collaboration of experienced professionals to ensure that the reinforcement techniques met conservation and performance requirements.
Hemp blocks thus offer enhanced living comfort while preserving the historical integrity of the building.
