The revival of Figeac Station in Occitanie in April 2023 marks a turning point in heritage restoration with an ecological touch.

The renovation project, following a disaster, was an opportunity to incorporate sustainable solutions, such as choosing 15 cm hemp blocks for interior cladding. The company Paramelle, selected through a tender process, played a crucial role in this transformation, highlighting its expertise in the use of bio-based materials.

The original stone and brick walls, witnesses to history, have been preserved while incorporating innovations in insulation and comfort. Under the direction of architect Carole Nicolas and with the support of the Occitanie region as the project owner, this project illustrates a successful blend of respect for architectural authenticity and commitment to sustainable development.

A year after its inauguration, Figeac Station stands as a model for integrating bio-based principles into renovation, ensuring optimal thermal and moisture regulation while contributing to the building's longevity. It is a true celebration of harmony between the past, present, and future.
