New construction of 10 houses divided into 4 units as part of a real estate development project in Haut Forzée, near Chevetogne.

Built with timber post-and-beam structures, the building envelope is made of hemp blocks through a double masonry with 20 cm thick blocks. The clients aimed to achieve high energy performance, and the 20 cm blocks allowed for easy implementation within the timber post-and-beam structure. With a total thickness of 40 cm, this insulating and breathable envelope meets the very low energy standards.

The floor insulation will also be carried out with 30 cm thick hemp blocks to provide good thermal inertia and maximise the efficiency of underfloor heating.

To integrate harmoniously with the landscape, the houses have been embedded into the slope to minimise the impact on the unique panorama.
