House built in self-construction amidst nature in Murat, Auvergne.
Single-family house built in self-construction in Murat, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The owner, Mr. Tommazino, chose to build his beautiful house himself with a post-and-beam wooden structure and an insulating envelope made of hemp blocks.
For the building's load-bearing wooden structure, he selected chestnut trees, which he had cut by a lumberjack friend.
The insulating envelope made of hemp blocks was then masoned by him in self-construction.
