Entrepreneurs for the environment.
It was nice to see that entrepreneurs are highly motivated to develop solutions to combat the climate crisis and change the world for the better. For example, we met Airseas, a company that develops kite pilots to tow cargo ships and thus help reduce their emissions. Or our neighbours at Cortexia who developed an AI system that helps cities keep their streets clean. So much to discover in so little time!
A huge success for IsoHemp and our hemp blocks.
We saw that our hemp blocks continue to excite and intrigue people from all sorts of backgrounds. We had many conversations with professionals and individuals who wanted to know how building and renovating with hemp works. The conclusion after each meeting was unanimous: hemp blocks are a simple, high-quality, and sustainable alternative to the polluting conventional building materials. The motivation to build sustainably is getting traction all over the world!
Decarbonising the construction industry: possible today!
During the three days, we saw a lot of hopeful looks. The hope that there are practical solutions that can make the rigid and extremely polluting building sector greener. Today, we have all the tools in our hands to make the switch to green and sustainable building. So what are we waiting for?
How will hemp blocks make the world greener?
- One cubic metre of hemp blocks absorbs 75kg of CO2
- A hemp plant absorbs four times more CO2 than a tree
- Hemp can be grown without the use of chemicals
- The hemp blocks can be recycled and reused
- The hemp blocks last for generations (unlike conventional materials that must be replaced after 25 years)
- Its unique strength allows it to withstand the test of time and the challenges of increasingly extreme weather conditions
- It is an excellent temperature and humidity regulator and can reduce a building's energy consumption by up to 70%
