Using 250 mm IsoHemp hemp blocks for the insulation of the exterior facade, covered with a traditional finish of mineral lime and sand, the project aims to mimic the materials and techniques of historical buildings to preserve their integrity and quality.
In the gap created between the IsoHemp hemp blocks and the existing façade, Ronan chose to use a mix of HL MIX and perlite to enhance the insulating properties. This project is an excellent example of how an exterior retrofit can be effectively executed, demonstrating good collaboration between Ronan and the homeowner.
This site not only demonstrates the flexibility and effectiveness of hemp blocks in renovation projects but also underscores their role in conserving heritage properties by using modern techniques that respect the appearance and essence of old structures.
